SHOWTIME 118 - 78
REPRESENTING LA the way a LA team would. And I was there to eye witness the spectacular spanking of the Houston Rockets.
I’ve been a Laker fan since the early 90s. Started watching the game post Magic’s early retirement leaving Bryon Scott and James Worthy to lead the showtime Lakers. I was a huge fan mid 90s with Nick Van Exel, Eddie Jones, and a promising Kobe Bryant. And then there was Shaq. Enough said. Through all of that, I have NEVER EVER been to a game. I’ve always just thought that the money spent on a ticket wasn’t worth paying. Raised by very responsible Taiwanese parents. Ya know.
Long story short, I felt like a little kid standing center court at the Staple Center. The Laker girls walking on, Derrick Fisher warming up on one side, Trevor Ariza warming up on the other side, and I had just finished teching for Quest’s performance at half time. And during the game with our extremely HOOKED UP seats, we got to watch Kobe and the Lakers smash the Rockets 118 - 78 (it was worth mentioning twice). Thanks to Lisa, who directs the Laker girls (who are all very nice as are their boyfriends), we got to perform at half time with a fairly warm reception, watch an amazing game. And with some blessings and good karma, maybe Quest will turn into some sort of Laker lucky charm and we can perform at the home games for the rest of the play offs…. heres one to the basketball gods…
and heres some for my faithful viewers…
(dont mind the quality of these photos. I hate it more than you, trust me)
