conversation over lunch

I’m not very good at talking or answering questions about myself and the things that I am doing. This is because I believe that the information isn’t interesting enough to where other people would want to hear about them.  It is a characteristic I’m slowly overcoming due to the fact that currently I’m getting quite a lot of them over myspace, facebook, and twitter.  Hopefully, in this post, I’ll find a medium between people’s curiosity and my undesirable trait of not wanting to share.  And if this type of post isn’t really of your taste or interest… well next time i’ll just have to try harder to be more interesting.

I am a dancer first and a photographer second though I would love to be both of those things at the same time.  In the past I put my collegiate team CADC, my professional team Breed and my crew chillfactor all in front of my other responsiblities.  I dont regret any of that, though, thats not to say there hasn’t been consequences.  One great result of that decision is that all that time learning and creating and organizing pieces, sets and shows, I am now able to bring it to Quest where we are able to benefit from everyone’s experiences and knowledge.

I’m easily labeled a “popper,” which out of respect for those true to the art of “popping” and also my own personal path, I respectfully do not wish it upon myself.  I do use certain elements from that style, but am definitely not considered one.  It’s a long and complicated story to get into but I’m a dancer who loves and loves to experience all different kinds of dance and works to incorporate any of which I believe would express how I feel about what I’m hearing or experiencing.  My major strength within the crew is my choreography and experience in creating shows… which I hope and wish to expand on as well as aquire new skills.  We’re gonna need all the help we can get to take over the world.

As for photography, it is depressingly almost non existent right now.  For one, it’s hard to find time to expand on my ideas and two, it’s hard to find time to think of ideas.  Even with the blog photography, I’ve been slow and grudgingly taking photographs because it’s too much to lug my DSLR around and the camera I do have, I hate.  So there lies the dilemma of being busy and then too lazy to do anything about it.  Hopefully a beam of inspiration hits me soon before my love falls into a hole that’s waiting for us all.  For previous work, I used mostly a Canon 40D and my favorite topic usually involve people and the world around them.  I have a website with some old work which is linked on the top of this page.

As for right now when I’m not with the crew, I wind down by watching a lot of movies, which I’ve always loved, and finding interesting things online.  Blogs, articles, youtube clips, art, music, you name it.  If you find anything cool, be sure to send it my way thanks!
